5 Year Curriculum Weekly Lesson Plans

E-mail Print
5 Year Curriculum

All curriculum sets are built around a 36-week time frame beginning the end of August and ending the first of May to match Bible themes and review weeks with the various holidays.  But, the curriculum is flexible enough to begin whenever it is convenient for you.  Simply alter holiday activities when needed.

The lesson plans are broken down into three categories: Items Needed, Objectives, and Suggested Activities.  To further understand the lesson plan format, read the 5 Year Curriculum Lesson Plan Overvieww.

Each weekly plans may be printed using the little printer icon at the top right of the lesson plan page.  To save you the time and cost of printing, the lesson plans and worksheets can be ordered as spiral bound books.

All of the lesson plans are available to view and print by clicking the numbered links below.

Matching the Curriculum with the Calendar and Holidays

The Curriculum is set to begin the end of August and finish the first of May.  This matches Bible themes and review weeks with the various holidays. If you would like to follow this schedule, the below chart will help you determine a schedule.  Remember that Easter is a volatile holiday and will need to be altered on some years.

While looking at a calendar you will find that a typical month covers five weeks including overlap from the month before and after.  Using this concept, I have create the following chart.  For example, when looking at the month of August, the fourth row (Aug 4) on the calendar would correlate with Lesson #1.

    1       Aug 4
    2       Aug 5/Sept 1
    3       Sept 2
    4       Sept 3
    5       Sept 4
    6       Sept 5/Oct 1
    7       Oct 2
    8       Oct 3
    9       Oct 4
    10     Oct 5 - Halloween
    11     Nov 1
    12     Nov 2
    13     Nov 3
    14     Nov 4 - Thanksgiving
    15     Nov 5/Dec 1
    16     Dec 2
    17     Dec 3
    18     Dec 4 - Christmas
    19     Dec 5/ Jan 1

    20        Jan 2
    21        Jan 3
    22        Jan 4
    23        Jan 5
    24        Feb 1
    25        Feb 2
    26        Feb 3 - Valentines
    27        Feb 4
    28        Mar 1
    29        Mar 2
    30        Mar 3
    31        Mar 4
    32        Mar 5/ Apr 1
    33        Apr 2 - Easter
    34        Apr 3
    35        Apr 4
    36        Apr 5/May 1

***2012-2013 is an "off" school year.  Thanksgiving and Valentines are early and overlapping weeks don't fall in the normal pattern.  Easter fluctuates so it will need to be moved many years.  The official start date this year is August 27th.  This lines up Christmas and the New Year.

    Aug 27 - Week 1
    Sept 3 - Week 2
    Sept 10 - Week 3
    Sept 17 - Week 4
    Sept 24 - Week 5
    Oct 1 - Week 6
    Oct 8 - Week 7
