Let me introduce myself. Some on the web call me Momma C, but I am known to my friends and family as Heidi and called Mommy by our four children. A farm girl at heart, my husband and I are raising our family as close to country life as we can surrounded by trees and rolling pastures in Arkansas. My normal day consists of waking up to time with my Savior, answering your emails, cooking, cleaning, playing, teaching, laughing, loving, going to bed and doing it all over again! You can find out more about Our Story on our blog.
Growing up in a family of educators, I always knew that I wanted to be a teacher. Not because I felt pressured but because I felt that being a teacher was God’s calling on my life. I was being called to be a missionary to kids. After graduating with a Bachelors in Education degree, I taught for one year in a private school followed by four wonderful years in the public schools. When my husband and I found out that we were expecting our first child, I knew God was calling me to pull back from teaching others' children and to focus on raising our own. Several years and four babies later, I continue to fill my need to teach through giving private piano lessons which I have done for over 20 years. In December 2007, I graduated with a Masters in Education (Pre-K to 12th Grade). My husband and I continue to be active in our church where we serve preschool children as well as adults. When I have free time, I enjoy reading, gardening, scrapbooking, biking, and hanging with my friends. My absolutely favorite thing to do is laugh with those God has placed in our life.
You can follow our blog - Our Out of Sync Life - to watch how we are learning to raise a son with Sensory Processing Disorder and developmental delays, a very Strong-Willed middle child, a Spirited Little Man, and our precious toddler. Also learn how we incorporate the ABC Jesus Loves Me curriculum into our daily lives and read honest product reviews. Daily posts include techniques on discipline, reviews, recipes, teaching, encouragement, holiday suggestions, craft ideas, and life-as-a-Mom posts, to name a few.
In April 2009, the third blog was added - Interrupted Expectations. This is a blog to help those who hurt due to life's interrupted expectations. Suggestions are given to help in the healing process. I also realized that people truly want to help but they don't know what to do. Throughout the blog are suggestions of how to help people when different interrupted expectations arise. Although this blog is no longer updated, my prayer is that God will use this website to help those who are hurting.
Our first ebook, "A Quiet Time, Worth the Time," was introduced to our blog subscribers in January 2012. This approximately 45 page booklet explains the how and why of having a personal devotional time with God.
God has given me a passion for children and moms. He took this passion and created these sites and our first ebook. I am humbled and extremely excited to be His vessel to help families, churches, and preschools teach children the Good News of Jesus.
