When our children were young, I learned quickly that no structure left our home in chaos and too much structure took away spontaneity.  Having a flexible schedule helped me finish household chores, spend focused time with my children, and incorporate the different objectives in the weekly ABCJesusLovesMe Lesson Plans for age-appropriate learning.

Below are two schedules that worked well for us. Please know that these are just examples and that the times are very flexible as each day and temperament is different.  Also know that in the real world, a schedule doesn't work everyday, but hopefully this will help you get into a routine.

When incorporating the ABCJLM Curriculum, I encourage you to cover the entire curriculum at least three or four days out of the week with the ultimate goal that learning will occur throughout the day without the child even knowing it!  Daily Curriculum Schedules are provided in the purchased Curriculum Guide.

ABCJesusLovesMe

I've started and stopped the 2 Year Curriculum a bazillion times.  It wasn't until I really stopped and listened to Heidi comments that ABCJLM is not school or a list of things you have to do, but rather a guide as you're going about your day, [that things changed]. In doing only a couple of activities each week, my son is thriving now that I've taken the pressure off.  - Emily on Facebook

Numbered Routine

If a timed schedule is overwhelming or too constraining, you might like a numbered routine.
