Mommy Just-For-Fun Books

E-mail Print

These are the books that I read when I have free time Smile or just need some time to relax.  These are the best of the best in my opinion.  Check out  Our Favorites to see more.

Lori Wick - I have read almost every book that Lori Wick has written and have enjoyed reading each of them.  These are my favorites.
Sophie's Heart Sophie's Heart    Pretense  Pretense

Karen Kingsbury - Like so many other Christian women, Karen Kingsbury is one of favorite authors.  Although I love all of her books, I highly encourage you to read the Baxter Series which begins with the Redemption Series.
                  Redemption  Redemption (Redemption Series-Baxter 1, Book 1)

Not My Will  Not My Will by Francena Arnold - Originally written in 1946, this a book that few have read but all should read.  I was so excited to see that they re-released it.  I first read this book when I was in middle school and have read it several times since.  This book holds a very special place in my heart.

Christy Miller  Christy Miller Series  by Robin Jones Gunn- May be too young for you, but I highly suggest the Christy Miller Series for teenage girls.  I stayed up way too late as a teenager wondering what would happen to Christy and Todd.  But along the way I learned a lot of moral lessons through the characters' lives.  Start with Summer Promise/A Whisper and a Wish/Yours Forever - The Christy Miller Series 1-3

Roses for MamaJanette Oke - Another great author with so many books to choose from.   Roses for Mama is my favorite.

Redeeming Love  Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers - This is one of my absolute favorite books.  This book is loosely taken from the story of Hosea and Gomer in the Bible.

Last LightLast Light - This is the first book of the Restoration Series by Terri Blackstock.  Last Light starts the story of life without electricity across the world.  You will never look at life the same way.
