Teach both letter recognition and proper letter formation with the ABC Letter Posters. Each poster includes clear visual and active phonics cues to make early literacy learning engaging and effective.

Decorate the Qq Poster with colored squares to make a quilt.

With paint, add lines to the Qq Poster for create a quilt design.

Color the Qq Poster. Cut from construction paper two crowns. Glue to the Q's and add goggly eyes. Draw a mouth below the googly eyes.

Place paint on a paper plate. Dip a Q-tip into the paint and stamp onto the Qq poster.

Paint the Letters Qq with paint and a q-tip.

Looks for q's in magazines, newspapers, or junk mail. Cut out the letters and glue on the Qq Poster.
Roll play dough into ropes and place them on the Qq Poster to form the letters. This is a great fine motor activity that helps the child understand letter formation. Afterward, use the play dough to create objects that start with the letter Q, such as an queen or quilt.

With a white crayon, draw firmly the q's on the Qq Poster. Paint over letters and watercolors and a surprise will appear.

My "Q" Book - by Jane Belk Moncure - Be sure to use the phonetic sound of the letter and not the letter name when reading the book. When we come to a letter, I have my child read the phonetic sound of each letter.

Practice being very quiet for 10 seconds and slowly increase the amount of time. When the time goes off say the /q/ sound together.

Provide construction paper for the child to cut into various shapes. Then provide a large piece of paper for the child to glue the pieces to form a quilt.
Call out to the child either "quick" or slow and instruct the child to move around the room matching what you have called. When walking quickly, say the word "quick" like a duck says "quack." Call quick and slow opposite words.

Place a quarter under paper and rub with a crayon to reveal the design.
