Provide blue construction paper, buttons, tissue paper, and other blue materials. Let the child create a collage using only blue items, encouraging creativity while exploring shades of blue.
Freeze blue-colored water in ice cube trays with popsicle sticks. Once frozen, use the blue ice cubes to "paint" on white paper, as they melt, creating beautiful blue streaks.
Dip marbles in blue paint and place them on a tray lined with paper. Or add small dollops of blue paint on the paper. Let the child tilt and roll the marbles across the tray to create abstract blue patterns.
Combine in a mixing bowl:
Mix with a mixer on the highest setting for 2-3 minutes or until stiff peaks form. Gently scoop foam into a large container. Add water toys and cups to play with.
Blue Hat, Green Hat by Sandra Boynton is a fun and lively board book that introduces young children to different colors through playful illustrations of various hats. Each page features a silly animal trying on a different colored item, often with humorous mishaps, like the turkey wearing a hat the wrong way.
Each "My Color Book" includes a title, a space for the child to write their name as the author, four simple sentences with matching pictures, and the words "The End." The sentences follow the pattern "A/An/The ______ is _______," with the pictures helping guide the child in reading. Designed for easy printing, the books are formatted to print front and back, creating six pages in total.
These books are intended for use at the end of the Basic 4 Year Curriculum and has been updated in the Complete 4 Year Curriculum.
