Below are the craft supplies, supplemental materials, and books suggested for the 3 Year Curriculum, 3rd ed. While the list may appear long, most items are already found in a home or preschool setting. Substitute as needed, but remember that consistent access to foundational books, quality textures, purposeful activities, and imaginative play deeply supports the child’s learning.
Many items can be purchased at a local supermarket or store. Provide the child with a well-lit, appropriately sized learning space. Tables and chairs should be child-sized so that the child’s feet rest flat on the floor and hips and knees form 90-degree angles. This position gives stability and comfort for writing. In classrooms, provide dolls, puzzles, and posters that represent a variety of skin tones, abilities, family structures, and cultures, reflecting the diversity of your classroom.
