Color Box - Walk through your home or classroom and collect purple items to place in a container.
• Shape Activities:
Shape Walk: Use pieces of painter’s tape or sidewalk chalk to make a large heart on the ground. Assist the child in walking, crawling, and hopping around the edges as you sing the shape song. Note: Do not use masking tape on carpet, as it will leave a residue.
Heart Song
Tune: There's a Hole in the Bucket
A heart is so special, so special, so special
With two humps and a point, it shows love to all.
• Animal Activities:
- Wrap the end of a paint stirrer with bubble wrap. Add a few dots of purple paint to the Tiger worksheet. Roll and pat the bubble wrap in the paint to decorate the worksheet.
- Find pictures of tiger in the books that you read.
- Crawl on the floor and roar like a tiger.
• Sign Language:
I specifically liked signing "no" as I could quietly tell our children "no" without others hearing.
• Book of the Week Ideas:
- Have a Pajama Day: Wear your pajamas all day.
- Point to purple items in the book.
• Fine Motor Skill:
Stack seven 1" blocks. Count the blocks as you or the child add them.
• Gross Motor Skill:
Crawl - Place pillows, couch cushions, or anything soft on the floor for the child to crawl over. Have fun making mountains and climbing peaks!
