Suggested Activities:

• Bible Story Activities:
- Prayer is talking to God.  He wants us to talk to Him and is never too busy to listen.  Prayer is thanking God for what He has given us, asking God for things we need, and asking God to forgive us for what we have done wrong.  We can pray anytime and anywhere.

- Cover and decorate a shoe box or tissue box.  Add a slit at the top large enough for the child to slip his/her hand in. Place pictures of people or things that the child can pray for.  Each night draw one or more out so the child can see the picture and know what to pray for before bed.

- ABC Book:  Place the Prayer worksheet in a 9x13 metal pan or shallow box.  Add a few dabs of red paint on the worksheet.  Place a ball in the pan or box and tilt the box to allow the movement of the ball to spread the paint.  This week's worksheet will conclude the Alphabet Bible Craft book.  Bind with craft rings, yarn, or keep in a 3-ring binder for the child to review and name the Bible symbols and stories.

• Color Activities:
- Add red food coloring to a small bowl of shaving cream. Mix together.  Fingerpaint on red construction paper.

• Shape Activities:
Shape Walk  Shape Walk:  Use pieces of painter’s tape or sidewalk chalk to make a large square on the ground.  Assist the child in walking, crawling, and hopping around the edges as you sing the shape song. Note:  Do not use masking tape on carpet, as it will leave a residue.

Square Song
Tune: Are You Sleeping?
Four straight sides, four straight sides
The same length, The same length
Join them together, Join them together
A square with strength, a square with strength

• Animal Activities:
- Drop a few dots of red paint on the Butterfly Worksheet worksheet.  Let the child spread the paint with a cotton swab.
- Find pictures of butterflies in the books that you read.
- Wave your arms and walk around the room like a butterfly.

• Sign Language Ideas:
- Help your child learn to say "sorry" when they hurt someone else, either physically or emotionally.  Signing the word is a great place to start.

• Book of the Week Ideas:
- Continue to expand your child's vocabulary by teaching her the names of the object, animal, or emotion pictured.  (Click to read more on teaching your child a new concept.)
- Look for items in the book that are circular in shape.

• Fine Motor Skill:
Pipe Cleaner Threading Activity Pipe Cleaner Threading - Using an empty Parmesan cheese container or other cylinder container, demonstrate for the child how to thread pipe cleaners into the container.  A Parmesan cheese container allows for three sizes of holes (without lid, pour, and sprinkle).  Begin with larger holes and work toward smaller.  Use red pipecleaners.

• Gross Motor Skill:
Streamer Ribbon Dance - Attach ribbons, streamers, or scarves to the end of a paper towel holder or straw.  Hold the ribbon swirling it from side to side, up and down, etc.  Be sure to switch hands.  This activity improves hand-eye coordination.
