Suggested Activities:

• Bible:
- The main point behind tithing is that all we have is not ours but God's.  He asks that we give some back to Him with a happy heart.

- Sponge paint God Loves a Cheerful Giver using coin shaped (circle) sponges.

- My Giving Bank:  Make a bank out of a cylinder container.  Cut a slit in the lid.  Decorate and write "I Can Give to God."  Place coins and money in the bank to give to church, missionaries, or other ministries.

• Colors:
String red, orange, and purple beads on a string or Fruit Loop cereal on a pipe cleaner.

• Shape:
- Triangle Rectangle House Craft Using the Triangle and Rectangle House worksheet, cut triangles and rectangles out of construction paper to create a house.

• Self-care and Manners:
Teach the child to say, "It is nice to meet you," when meeting a new person.

• Book of the Week:
- Crayon Rubbing:  All of the spider webs in the book are raised.  Using the last web (opposite the owl), place a piece of paper over the page.  Have the child color with a crayon to create a web.

- Stuff a toilet paper roll with newspaper.  Paint everything black.  Let dry.  Make legs with eight black pipe cleaners poked through the roll.  Add googly eyes or small white pompoms.

- Review the "Itsy Bitsy Spider" and "Little Miss Muffet"

- Cut a triangle or rectangle out of cardboard and make slits around the edges.  Using black yarn or thread have the child cross the yarn over the front of the shape from one slit to another to make a spider's web.

- Take a nature walk looking for spider webs.

• Fine Motor Skill:
Place the Triangle and Rectangle worksheet on a vertical surface.  Fingerpaint using red, orange, and purple colors.

• Gross Motor Skill:
Create a Memory Obstacle Course using a puzzle or flashcards to work on shapes and colors.
