Time for a review week! Since children learn through repetition, this week offers a chance to revisit past objectives, repeat favorite activities, and complete any unfinished tasks. New learning is introduced through the fine and gross motor skills.

Get the support you need with helpful videos and simple worksheets using the unique ABCJesusLovesMe Handwriting Curriculum. The key to successful penmanship lies in the process, where each level builds upon the previous one. Perfect for home use, this curriculum prepares your child for a lifetime of beautiful handwriting.
Write large letters (Aa-Ee) and numbers (0-4) on individual pieces of paper. Encourage your child to trace over each letter or number using shaving cream while saying the corresponding letter formation chant or number rhyme. As your child traces, guide them to form all letters starting from the top and moving downward, left to right, and for circular letters, in a counterclockwise direction. This helps build proper writing habits while making learning fun and tactile.
Cut out five triangle shapes to resemble ice cream cones. Write the numbers 0-4 on each cone. Have the child count and add the correct number of pom pom to each cone as ice cream scoops, corresponding to the number on the cone. For an extra motor skills challenge, ask the child to place the pom poms on the cones using small kitchen tongs, enhancing their hand-eye coordination and fine motor control.

Using small items like M&M's, buttons, or coins, create groups of zero to five in a pile. Encourage your child to use their thumb and index finger to pick up each item, avoiding the temptation to slide the items to the edge of the table for easier grabbing. For extra practice, have your child pick up the small items using a pair of tweezers or tongs. Cosmetic tweezers may be more challenging, so consider using plastic tweezers from a science or doctor set or kitchen tongs.
Place pieces of paper on the floor, each with a number from 0 to 4 written on them. Ask the child to hop to each number in sequential order, saying the number aloud as they land. After hopping, rearrange the numbers and introduce other movements such as bear crawls or crab walks to reach the numbers.
