Book of the Week:
Gossie Gossie by Olivier Dunrea

Fine Motor Skill:  Writing
Gross Motor Skill:  Follow the Leader

Suggested Activities:

• Bible:
- For this lesson focus on the fact that Jesus loves others so we are to show love to others too.  Discuss ways that we can show love.  Make cookies or bread to give to a friend to show them love.  Pick flowers to give away.

- Using old magazines, cut out and create a picture collage of things that you can do for people to show love (tissue, flowers, cookies, etc.).  Add the title "I Can Show Love Too."

- Decorate a bandaid and talk about ways we can help people.

• Colors and Shapes:
- Color the Star and Circle worksheet using purple, brown, and white crayons.  Be sure to press hard.  When finished, paint over the colors with black paint.  The black paint will not attach to the wax crayon.

• Number:
Using the Apple Tree Number Book, point and count the apples on the trees.  Continue to point and count items you find throughout the day.

• Book of the Week:
- Help your child understand "sharing" when reading this book
- Discuss the spatial words used in this book.

• Fine Motor Skill:
While holding a pencil correctly, draw lines and circles. Help the child place his/her pencil on the green dot, draw along the yellow, and stop at the red dot.  Say "go" and "stop" when on the corresponding colors. Some children will not be ready for this activity and that is okay.  Continue to work on fine-motor activities to increase the child's fine motor control.

• Gross Motor Skill:
Play "Follow the Leader." As the leader, be sure to do activities that involve gross motor skills (crawling, jumping, rolling, etc.).
